We know that learning to drive can be very stressful and things you normally take for granted, such as knowing your left and right, are often forgotten!

That is why we try to make it as pleasant and enjoyable as possible, whilst our friendly, patient and professional approach ensures that you pick up the required skills as soon as possible.

Courses are tailored to your personal needs and you can take lessons lasting one, one-and-a-half or two hours. You can even take more than one lesson a week - it's up to you. However, we normally recommend that pupils take two-hour lessons or a couple of one-hour lessons each week because what was learned in the last lesson may take a little time to recall in the next lesson and shorter lessons can result in there being less time to learn new skills. As a result, you may need to take more lessons to pass the Test.

Your training programme will cover many different types of roads from quiet country lanes to busy town and city centres. It is usually possible to meet you at one address and leave you at a different one, so if you want to start your driving lesson at home, but then go shopping, to work or to college, for example, we are happy to do this provided we are given adequate notice.

What is the multiple choice part of the test?

This part consists of 50 multiple choice questions covering a wide range of driving topics. By touching the screen, you select an answer, or answers, from the selection shown. To pass you must answer 45 or more questions correctly in 40 minutes.

How does the hazard perception part work?

This test consists of 14 video clips, each lasting about one minute. The clips feature various types of hazards, such as vehicles, pedestrians and road conditions. You should respond by pressing a mouse button as soon as you see a hazard developing that may result in the driver having to take some action, such as changing speed or direction.

The earlier the developing hazard is spotted, and a response made, the higher the score. Candidates can score up to five marks on each hazard and the test contains 15 scoreable hazards. The pass mark for this part of the test is 44 out of 75.
